"Making a difference is important, but it’s not a race…”

We all know that in recent weeks, the UK has been unsettled by far-right rioters driven by racism and Islamophobia. This is a stark reminder that even in a country as open as ours, hatred and fear of difference remain a challenge. Although our hometown of London has been largely safe, these riots have spread fear across racialised / political minorities. They have affected our team and community personally. At its core, fashion is about presenting ourselves in the world in a way that is true to ourselves. Yet, fashion can also often prioritise fitting in and confirming to a narrow definition of beauty rather than flourishing because the richness of our racial and religious differences.

Helping women in sport flourish

Happy Olympics season! Today we speak to Katie Simmonds, Chief Operating Officer of the Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA), and Managing Director of SIGA Women. SIGA is the largest organisation for sport integrity. Their scope is massive: they work to improve governance, accountability and transparency for every sport, and in every country. We discussed Katie's work and the SIGA Women mentorship scheme. Katie launched this scheme to create a powerful network of women supporting women in sport, and to help young women gain the confidence to flourish in the sport industry.
