We all intuitively understand the importance that hair and beauty have on our confidence, mental health and ability to flourish. Whether it's that restorative massage when we are stressed, getting our nails done for an event, or a post-break-up haircut, women and men in hair and beauty have seen us through almost every high and low.
Their work is so vital that the beauty and fashion sector has been called 'the fourth emergency service'.
But who is looking after the people who look after us?
In this month's Make Your Mark series, we speak to Jayne Orr, President of the Hair and Beauty Charity. Jane has been involved in the Charity for over 20 years. This coincides with two very important milestones for us: Self Care Awareness Month, and the International Day of Charity. Jane discusses the role that her Charity plays in supporting the many women working in hair and beauty when they fall on hard times, and the importance that this sector plays in all our lives. 💚
