β€œIt’s about learning what your hair really needs...” πŸ’‡πŸ½β€β™€οΈ

As the seasons shift, many of us notice changes: dryness, brittleness, or extra frizz. For those with curls, the colder months can feel especially tricky. Many of us manage seasonal changes with small but consistent routines - from regular washes and leave-in conditioner to wrapping our hair at night to keep frizz at bay. Some even turn to natural oils, which can be a lifesaver against dryness.

But it’s never just about the practical routines - it’s also about how hair shapes how we feel.Β β€œI put myself out there a bit less. I tie it up, I hide it away, and in a way I also do that with my own personality when I feel like I don’t look my best.”

That’s why, Layla (one of our community members) in conversation with Ian Carmichael (former hairdresser to the Queen, now at Trevor Sorbie), spoke about the real impact of seasonal changes, why curly hair is more vulnerable, and how nutrition plays just as much of a role in healthy hair as the products we use.

Sometimes the best hair moments aren’t about dramatic transformations, but about feeling likeΒ yourself - just elevated. After her session, Layla shared how much she loved Ian’s approach: keeping her curls natural and effortless, but polished and healthier-looking.

With his deep knowledge of curly hair, Ian created a style that felt authentic yet refined - proof that great hair care is as much about confidence and comfort as it is about technique.

Stay tuned as we share more lessons and stories from our Back to Hair School series - because good hair days are about so much more than hair.
