“Give yourself permission to start small...”

Making Flourishing Moves - Part 2

If flourishing is about living in alignment with who we are becoming - not who we were told to be - then Loly’s story is a masterclass in purposive action.

Loly is 57. About seven years ago, she made a pivot that many people quietly dream about but rarely allow themselves to try. She began modelling, acting, and creating content - not because it was fashionable, but because, finally, it felt honest.

As a visually impaired woman who chose to let her hair go silver naturally, Loly felt there was little representation for women like her. Rather than seeing those differences as obstacles, she chose to own them - and in doing so, made space for conversations that weren’t always happening before.

Over time, her work evolved again. Health challenges prompted a slower pace and a shift away from set life, leading her towards content creation, women’s gatherings, and advocating for self-care and community. Her focus now is on creating supportive spaces where women of all ages can connect, reflect, and look after themselves - without pressure or perfection.

When asked what advice she’d give to someone thinking about making a big change, Loly keeps it simple: start small. Do one thing consistently. Treat your time and energy with respect. Don’t beat yourself up - flourishing is built through steady, compassionate action, not overwhelm.

Listen at the link to hear Loly share her journey in her own words, and reflect on how small, intentional steps can quietly lead to profound change.
