We all know how good it feels to take care of the planet - carrying your tote bag, switching off lights, walking instead of driving. But sometimes, the most meaningful change is the work we don’t always see. The invisible efforts, quietly making waves.
That’s why this month, as the world marks Environment Day on June 5, we’re spotlighting someone whose work is both future-focused and deeply rooted in care. In this edition of Make Your Mark, we spoke to Patricia Estridge (or Paddy) - marine ecologist, innovator, CEO and co-founder of SeaGen, a company using smart robotics to restore and protect the world’s oceans, rivers, and lakes.
"I got it from my mother..."
With many celebrating Mother’s Day this month, we’re reflecting on how our mothers, grandmothers, aunts, or chosen maternal figures helped shape our sense of self-expression - whether that came in the form of style, quiet confidence, or simply showing up as ourselves.
Confidence isn’t always loud. Sometimes, it’s the memory of watching her get ready in the morning. The way she layered her jewellery, or wore her lipstick like armour. Sometimes, it’s in how she carried herself - even when things weren’t perfect.
"We have 100% control over ourselves and how we perceive life..."
This month, in honour of Stress Awareness Month, we invited breath coach Aicha McKenzie to lead a live session in London. It wasn’t just an event - it was a pause. A reminder to exhale all the noise we carry and return to ourselves.

Our founder Andrea had the chance to speak with Aicha, a certified breath coach and founder of BreatheByAMCK, who’s on a mission to make breathwork more accessible for everyday life. Aicha reminded us that stress isn’t always just about what’s going on - it’s about how our bodies respond. Our nervous system holds on to more than we realise. But the good news? Even a few minutes of intentional breathing can create real shifts - easing anxiety, calming the mind, and helping us feel more present. From overloaded inboxes and tight deadlines to social expectations and the pressure...
"My favourite way to unwind is..."
With Spring in full bloom, it’s hard to avoid the feeling of joy and optimism that this season brings. That’s why many cultures traditionally see Spring as a time for rebirth (think Easter eggs, and the resurrection of Jesus in Christian culture); and some therapists think this is the ideal season for self-care and setting new goals. For the same reason, April is a great time for Stress Awareness Month. Self-care isn’t selfish - it’s essential. Between work, social commitments and the endless to-do list, stress sneaks in before we even notice. It is a natural part of life, but when left unchecked, it can take a toll on our mental and physical well-being. That’s why in this month’s blog,...
