With Galentine’s Day and Random Acts of Kindness Day coming up this month, after January’s long dark days, for us, February is all about the affection and appreciation we show to the ones we love, and the kindness we can demonstrate to those whom we barely know.
That’s why, in this month’s blog we’re focussed on the connections we reinforce and the new ones we create. The friends who lift us up, the mentors who guide us, the sisters who hype us up, and the colleagues who have our backs. Support isn’t just about words - it’s about showing up, standing together, and celebrating each other.
To celebrate this spirit of connection, this Galentine’s Day, we’d like to invite you to send a shout-out to that one woman in your life who has supported you this year. This can be your bestie, a colleague, a family member, or someone who inspired you this year.
Simply email us or share a 20-second video telling us starting with “My Galentine’s crush this year is…. And I’d like to thank her for….” We’ll then share this over Email and IG on Valentine’s Day.
To inspire you, we share some snippets from three Paradisefold Insiders who told us about values close to their heart and women who have inspired them. Send us yours today!
Here’s to a February filled with kindness, connection, and unwavering love. 💚
Hear from Shanelle Banton, a model and social media entrepreneur, who is deeply passionate about diversity and racial equity in the fashion industry. For Shanelle, the most inspiring woman in her life is her mother. “All my skills, how I communicate, how I study - it all comes from my mum.”
Nina, a technology consultant and part-time model, is passionate about two key issues: gender equality and animal welfare. Working in tech, she has observed the barriers that prevent women from advancing to senior leadership roles, and she is actively involved in initiatives that empower women in the industry. The woman who inspires her most is Michelle Obama. “Her leadership and resilience inspire me every day.”
For Amelia, love and kindness mean standing up for justice. She is deeply committed to advocating for peace and equality, particularly in supporting Palestinian and Israeli communities during times of conflict. Like Shanelle, she finds her greatest inspiration in her mother. But for Amelia, confidence is also a form of self-love. “It means not being afraid to get things wrong, not being afraid to be yourself - loud, courageous, and unapologetic.”
