Caring for your body, season by season

Did you know that our skin and hair don’t stay the same throughout the year? Just like the weather changes, so do our bodies - and the rituals that nourish them need to adapt too.

Research shows that humidity, UV exposure, and even indoor heating affect our skin’s barrier and our hair’s strength. In summer, for example, the skin tends to produce more oil while the sun weakens hair protein and fades colour. Winter flips the story: cold air and dry heating strip away moisture, often leading to flaky skin, brittle strands, and increased shedding.

The good news? With a little seasonal awareness, we can stay ahead of these shifts and give our body what it really needs. Here are a few ways to refresh your rituals:

  • Hydrate: Drink water steadily, but also layer hydration into your routine. In summer, lightweight moisturisers and leave-in conditioners help lock in balance. In winter, switch to richer creams and nourishing masks that replenish lost moisture.
  • Protect: SPF is a must year-round (yes, even on cloudy days). In summer, add UV protection for your hair and scalp, and in winter, shield your skin and strands from harsh winds with protective oils or serums.
  • Weekly care: Masks, scrubs, or overnight treatments as seasonal reset buttons. They don’t just repair damage - they also restore the sense of ritual, giving you a moment to slow down and listen to your body.
  • Support: The clothes and accessories we wear can either help or harm. Natural, breathable fabrics like silk reduce friction and regulate temperature, supporting your skin and hair no matter the season.

By embracig the natural rhythm of your body through the year, you extend the life and vitality of your skin and hair - and carry a deeper sense of confidence into every season.
